The labor force in the North Shore has increased in the past year by 1.4% while the number employed has also increased by 1.6% and the number of unemployed decreased by 3.5%. Year to year gains in the North Shore labor force with higher employment figures combined with a  decrease in the number of unemployed would signal an increase in the  labor force participation rate. The workers returning to the labor force are possibly the long term unemployed and/or new Americans who would benefit from soft skills and hard skills training.
