MassHire North Shore Workforce Board of the City of Salem Massachusetts collects explicit SMS opt-in consent through three distinct, customer-initiated methods:
1. Web Form Opt-In: Customers visiting our official website (https://masshire-nscareers.org) fill out intake or event registration forms. Above the submit button, they enter their mobile phone number and must check an optional, un-selected checkbox with explicit compliance verbiage detailing brand name, message types, frequency, data disclosures, and links to our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
2. Paper Form Opt-In: Clients visiting our physical career center location (70 Washington Street, Salem, MA) fill out physical registration forms. The form includes a dedicated mobile phone field alongside an unchecked disclosure box identical to our web form disclosure, requiring a manual signature or checkmark to opt-in.
3. Verbal Phone Opt-In: For inbound phone inquiries, our career center staff follows a strict, documented verbal script. Staff notify the customer of our SMS program (webinar alerts and career updates), state message and data rate disclosures, inform them that consent is optional, and verbally confirm their agreement before manually documenting the opt-in timestamp in our internal database.
