The Commonwealth of Massachusetts, through the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development, Department of Career Services, and the MA Division of Apprentice Standards has been awarded a $2.9 million American Apprenticeship Grant. These funds will be used to support the Massachusetts Apprenticeship Initiative (MAI) which will support 300 MA residents to gain apprenticeship training.
The Northeast Advanced Manufacturing Consortium (NAMC), a partnership of 4 workforce investment boards and regional manufacturers, is actively working with local manufacturers to enroll new hires and existing workers into registered apprenticeship training programs. NAMC can offer up to $5,000 per apprentice to help subsidize specialized training delivered outside the workplace or for internal training.
Timberline Communications Inc, has recently enrolled their second Apprentice as a Tower Technician I. Timberline is excited to be participating in the Massachusetts Apprenticeship Initiative. Timberline Communications has identified the value that the MAI program provides as it helps to create a structured training program that focuses on delivering a safe and process controlled Tower Technician Apprenticeship Program.
